I just got back from Wizard World Chicago and had a fan ask me what was included with the Ori Daniel and Season 10 Teal’c from our upcoming Stargate Season 10 Two-Pack. Most of our Stargate releases include extra pieces of something, so I thought that was a really good point. We originally decided to include some character-related accessories and call it a day, but then we remembered just how quickly our Stargate Transport Rings sold out a couple of months ago.

We’re working on getting some more of those rings to fans, so think of this as an emergency refresh for those die-hard Stargate fans out there.

At last, the sound files for the Enterprise D have arrived from CBS! Now they are on their way to DSTRobert to make them production ready.

Emergency Saucer Seperation

I had a lot of fun with this project! Besides getting to watch the movie for reference, I got to use a lot of lace overlays and colorful chains for graphic elements! My goal was to make the box seem…punk rock yet, modern, yet colorful. You know, something Madonna would be proud of!

I’m on this big kick with separating my graphics into sections. Which is why the front of this Minimate box is separated in 3 parts. The mix up of Susan & Roberta was the main story line, so I added the characters to the front. I used a lot of filters and color overlay to give it a shroud of mystery, just like Susan.

We managed to get half the BSG series 2 figures out the door in time for SDCC (they’ll be in stores 07/23). The rest are almost on a boat in HK to be shipped out. I never knew cylons came in so many different shades. There are going to be some pretty cool cylon armies out there.Factory has just been going frakking BSG crazy with all the awesome BSG items we have coming out at SDCC. Finally, all items are on the water though and sailing to comic con….

We were expecting to receive the packaging dieline from the factory today for the Enterprise D…….still waiting. Sorry graphics guys, hopefully tomorrow. We did get a couple prototype shots from the factory; check here for a couple sneak peaks. Factory is still checking the construction and the details; after they’re done they said they will send the prototype for our review.

So I wanted to let you guys in on all the great stuff I have been working on for our new line of Ultimate Quarter Scale Star Wars action figures. Some of you may have seen sneak peeks of these guys at the trade shows and Comic Cons. I have the pleasure of working up close and personal with the UQS figures. First of all let me tell you from a collector stand point, even if this wasn’t my job I would most certainly be buying all of these for myself. That being said from a designers stand point they are indeed the creamed corn of my projects and I love them.

If you’re like me than you are a big fan of war movies, the list is too long but let me tell you that Platoon is at the top somewhere. I can’t tell you how excited I was to hear we would be making MGM Platoon Minimates. When I used to think of minimates the first thing that came to my mind was Marvel Minimates, but I have come to learn that that just isn’t the case. We are knee deep in tons of movie minimates and I couldn’t be happier to have been working on the Platoon line. I just finished up the boxes for these guys a while ago, expect to see some cool movie poster inspired designs. Also pick these little soldiers up for yourself; they have character accurate helmets, little machine guns (so cute!).

Can I just say how much I love our Cylon Centurion figure? Seriously, if California law keeps going the way it’s headed I’m going to marry one some day. For those not in the know, we just released our second series of Battlestar Galactica action figures and they’re so frakkin’ cool that I had to write a blog about them. Now I may be biased since I watch every episode multiple times (once on the internet, once on my DVR, once with commentary, repeat viewings with friends, etc), but in my fan-boy opinion every single sci-fi-watching nerd on the internet needs at least one of these.
