So I wanted to let you guys in on all the great stuff I have been working on for our new line of Ultimate Quarter Scale Star Wars action figures. Some of you may have seen sneak peeks of these guys at the trade shows and Comic Cons. I have the pleasure of working up close and personal with the UQS figures. First of all let me tell you from a collector stand point, even if this wasn’t my job I would most certainly be buying all of these for myself. That being said from a designers stand point they are indeed the creamed corn of my projects and I love them.

In the past months I have been photographing these guys like mad, taking pictures of all the costume pieces, they each come with movie accurate clothing (many, many layers). Let’s just say Darth Maul must spend hours getting ready in the morning because there are more layers to his outfit than a Sarah Jessica Parker closet. Most of the photographs are for approval purposes and for our personal archive. More recently as things get closer and closer to approval I have been taking actual photos for our ads and working on getting the packaging concepts all worked up.

I know that half of you are probably reading this just to get any inside scoop you can, so for those of you who are waiting for the goods here’s what you can look forward to for the UQS packaging. Expect to see lots and lots of windows; I wanted to make sure that you could get a clear view of most of the figure without having to wonder what you’re getting. There will be a try me slot so you can hear all those great phrases and some awesome Star Wars designs and art to catch your eye while you’re browsing that toy section!

Right now I am working on the Darth Maul Ad, this is exciting because once the ad runs that means we have made it past a big hump in the production process and normally after I finish an ad the next step is the box, once the box gets approved its all cake from there! I can’t wait to be able to share these with you, get pumped they are on their way!
