July 15, 2008 : Star Wars quarter scale refinments

There were problem with having the old Art Asylum method for the boots and gloves, so I had HK try this method where we would tool a half-calf boot so the ankle joint would become part of the actual boot. Factory is holding the cost of the tool with these 2 additional pieces. There is still a space between the leg and boot so we can fit the pants down.

This also adds an additional swivel joint by the boot and keeps the details of the boot intact.

The same is with the glove where we are the glove is one unit with the upper fore arm. There is no new tooling an the articulation remains the same.

We could not do the japanese style articulation were the ankle would also bend side to side since the factory was concerned about the stability (because of the weight of the doll and also the joint ate up a lot of visual details) so we stuck with what was most stable.
