October 17, 2008 : Ultimate Quarter Scale Darth Maul; Ultimately finished.

Dear Readers,

I am not sure how many of you guys are actually here every day reading and keeping up with the new UQS line of Star Wars figures, but I am going to imagine it’s the first thing you do every morning before brushing your teeth. I will also picture all of you in bantha slippers and Jedi bath Robes, okay? Early this week you may have read about finishing up the packaging and having some issues with it. You may also remember me mentioning a bit of a surprise and leaving a big blank out of the posted picture as to keep you on the edge of your seat. Well sit on the edge no longer!!!

The box is finally finished and to the factory, this means that as long as no typhoons, hurricanes or Godzillas attack Honk Kong in the next month Darth Maul will be shipping very much on time for all of you, so like I said numerous times before go pre-order him now or you may just be paying double on the black market for one of these guys!

Let me start off by saying it was a bumpy road, as you read I am sure, creating die lines from scratch can suck, but now the hard part is over. That means we have the shell for the packaging for all UQS, which includes Indy and Star Trek, I suspect I will be working on Kirk soon enough. The problems with size and weight are all taken care of and the surprise is approved by Lucas.

The surprise that I was talking about in the previous post about UQS and in this blog is none other than some really awesome custom art work for the UQS boxes! If your at all familiar with our Marvel select line you know it’s cool to line up your boxes on shelves to show the artwork on the outer panel. You may also be a subscriber to Maxim magazine and know that if you line up all the magazines that you get a cool mural of some hot babes. We took these two ideas and merged them! In fact, we commissioned Dave Dorman; an artist who you may recognize as the illustrator and painter of some of the best Star Wars oil paintings in the expanded universe. George Lucas even collects his pieces! He has painted a mural for us to include on the sides of wave one of our UQS figures, that means line up your figures and you’ll create an awesome work of art! I know it’s really exciting huh? Each box will have a different slice of the whole mural so collect them all and display your boxes in this cool way!

So now you know the big secret and you can spread the news and get your orders in, I mean it guys! Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

From the carpal tunnel stricken wrists of,
