January 31, 2009 : Watch Out, he might execute Order 66 on you!

I was just working on some ads for our new Emporer Palpatine Ultimate Quarter Scale figure and I think this is my favorite one since Darth Maul! I guess the bad guys just make for the most awesome figures. The sculpt on this thing just oozes evil. I like his menacing black robes as well. I wonder if it will ever be cool to wear robes like they do in the Star War universe. It sure would make it easier to pick out what you are going to wear every morning and would look bad-ass to boot. Sure would be better than skinny jeans for men. I digress though. This figure is going to be a must have. Pair him up with the Darth Maul I am sure you already have and they will dominate the universe of your apartment (or house, or mom’s basement)

January 25, 2009 : I Swear They Will Not Kill Anyone

Remember the first time you saw T2 and found out that the Terminator wasn’t going to kill anybody? I have to say I was a bit disappointed. That was before I realized he could still WOUND them in pretty gruesome ways. This has to be one of my all time favorite movies to this day. That is why I am pretty excited about our new T2 Minimates. I can re-create all the great scenes from one of my all time favorite movies right on my coffee table! I only wish we could make a Minimate size semi-truck and dirtbike. That, and maybe some cop cars to obliterate. I can tell you the prototypes I have seen are really cool, I can’t wait to get my hands on the production versions when they come out.

January 24, 2009 : Be A True Jedi Master

I have not had much opportunity to work on projects from our Star Wars license so far. That is why it was pretty exciting to get to work on the ad recently for the upcoming Jedi Luke Skywalker. Taking pictures and working on the ad brought back memories of watching Jedi in the theater backin the day. This figure is movie accurate right down to the mechanical hand and green lightsaber. The Jedi uniform is spot on as well. I can’t wait to get one to add to my collection. Hopefully I will be able to wrestle one away from DSTJen!

January 23, 2009 : Come with me if you want to live

The newest Ultimate Quarter Scale figure coming out has got to be my favorite, the Terminator from T2! I am just not that big of a Star Wars fan (I know many people can’t relate). T2 blew me away when I saw it in the theater way back when. It just eclipsed the original in every way! The likeness on this figure is pretty much dead-on. The outfit makes you remember how cool the Governator looked in his biker leathers (strange how the stolen clothes always fit him so well). He also come with a sawed off shotgun without a trigger guard, just like in the movie (if only he had a box of roses to pull it out of). Just looking at this thing is bringing back so many memories I might have to re-watch the movie tonight for old time’s sake!
