Jeffrey Miceli: Hi, I just felt very compelled to express to you guys that the quarter scale Indiana Jones is phenomenal!!! Pictures do not do this doll justice. From the packaging to the facial sculpt to the clothes, beautiful and worth every penny. But, here goes the but don’t worry only thing is that as iconic as is the whip, hat and jacket so is the haversack bag on his side! My only complaint is he needs his bag. I think I’m gonna be getting the Anakin but any chance we’ll see anymore Indy’s? You guys did one hell of a job on him and I say thank you!!!!!
DSTChuck: I think if there is one thing I regret about the Indy is the bag! We put SO much into that piece that the budget just ran way over…something had to go and it was the bag. If the Raiders doll does as well as we think we have several more Indy’s planned for the line.
Dave Tuszynski:
Purchased the Star Wars Darth Maul Ultimate Quarter Scale figure, but it only says one comment. Package says it has multiple sayings and sounds. How do you get the other sayings and sounds? Thank you
DSTChuck: All dolls are sent out to stores in “try-me” mode to save battery power. IF you move the clothes away from the body around the torso area you will find a switch you can easily change to Play Mode instead of Try Me.
Aaron Bossak:
Will Art Asylum make a satchel bag for the UQS Indiana Jones?
DSTChuck: Our very next Indy doll WILL have the bag.
Roger Zamudio:
Hi guys, Just want to comment on your UQS Maul. He is quite awesome. Very happy with the sculpt, outfit, and overall look of him. My only complaint would be with the scale of his head (a wee bit tiny) and the body of the figure. I’m kind of worried about posing him after reading about some breakage of the figure online. Hopefully the base body of these figures can be updated sometime down the line. Anyway, great job (better than Sideshow’s Maul)! Don’t let the naysayers get you down, keep up the great work, looks like I’m in it for the long haul! What’s up to DST Jen!
DSTChuck: The head size is a tricky thing. I mean in real life some folks seem to have smaller heads and some seem to have larger. With an action figure or doll its always best to go a little on the small side. It makes for a bit more dramatic look. Some of the earliest bodies did have some trouble standing and there were some breakage issues. We caught that pretty early on with our HK Quality Control staff so we don’t think too many got out there. Feel free to play with it as much as you want. If there is a breakage problem, just email customer service and they will take care of it. DSTJen is on leave right now, she has a new youngling to take care of… Don’t worry she will be back to blogging very soon.
Conor Brosnahan:
Hi there! Several boards are alight with the rumour that DST/AA are making X-Files items soon…are action figures planned? If they were made in same vein as your Star Trek figures,ie variants, or a ‘Mulder and Scully wave’…that would seriously kick my ass!
DSTChuck: I am sorry but right now we have no plans to make product for the X-Files.
Alexander Hof:
Hi there. With the recent announcement that DST will now be available at Toys R Us, I looked at their website since the announcement briefly mentioned “exclusives.” I saw three action figures (Star Trek & Battlestar Galactica) that say they are TRU exclusives. The Star Trek one…Star Trek Figure Wave 1 - Screaming Kirk…is pretty obvious as it is the same figure that was released a while ago with Kirk in his away jacket from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan but in that one he wasn’t “screaming.” For the two BSG ones though, I can’t tell what makes them exclusive as they look exactly like the other figures that have either (a) already been released or (b) will be released this year in one of the sets. I was wondering if you could give me some more details on these two plus if you are able to already say what other exclusives that TRU will have for Star Trek, Stargate/Atlantis, and BG.
DSTChuck: The Apollo features a new ship insignia and the Cylon is an all new paint design. The Starbuck is the same as was released before. Right now Stargate will not be in TRU - that may change in the future. We hope to ship new figures for BSG and Star Trek into TRU this spring.
James White:
Great Job on everything you guys have been doing lately and thanks for keeping us updated on shipping dates. My question is: Can you give us any hints as to what we may see at Toy Fair 09 from DST and AA?
DSTChuck: We’ll have a couple new licenses and one of them I think will shock everyone and the other will be a “that makes sense” response. We’ll also have plenty of line extensions for existing licenses.
Liam McDonough:
Hi, I was wondering, since you do hold the license to the film Serenity, do you also have the license for the show on which Serenity is based on? I’m talking of course about Joss Whedon’s Firefly. If so, do you have any plans to release products from either property? As you may or may not know, Firefly and Serenity have very strong cult-followings. I know you made some Serenity figures way back when, but fans want more. Thank you for your time.
DSTChuck: Sorry Brown Coats. Right now we have no product planned for either line.
