One of the stages of rotocast production involves making a wax casting of the sculpt we originally sent to the factory.  In this case, we are given photos to review for sizing/scale, details, and coin slot placement.  In other words, this is the point of no return.  If we say “go”, the form in the wax is what comes off the line.

One thing that always seems to come up is “Why doesn’t the final product exactly match the prototype?”  There are about a million answers to that question, but one of them just recently occured, so I thought I would share the behind-the-scenes look.
