Just wondering what’s going on with minimates waves 25 & 26, some retailers have gotten them an others still have not? Was there a shipping problem? When can we expect all orders to be filled?

DSTChuck: I am not aware of any issues with either wave. The extra stock we had is moving quickly though, so some stores might have had trouble refreshing their stock.

well you said ” Keep the emails and ideas coming, John.” so I thought of some more ideas - Forge, Magma, Mister Sinister, Toad, Avalanche, movie Gambit (as an exclusive with the DVD but more gambits are most likely off the table for now) and Cannonball - well that what I got. you should finish the brotherhood. also all my local stores seem to stop the minimates. I have too buy online.could you make sure TRU in Oregon get them the only other way to get them is in Washington,Idaho, or California, I don’t want to go that far even smaller stores stopped selling them. oh and you should remake doc ock with longer metal arms only make them more like scorpion’s tail you should try to get right to make minimates on a really popular video game series like halo sure I don’t like it but a lot of people do (and I mean a lot but I still would prefer super smash bros) and when are the new marvel minimates available I can’t wait

DSTChuck: Ok john lets see — thanks for the ideas and yes we’ve though of some of them already, if the Marvel line keeps selling I guess the sky’s the limit. We have had some discussions with TRU about making Minimates a chain wide item. They are close to chain-wide now, but there are some very small stores that just don’t have the space to add them in especially in the fourth quarter. As the line continues to sell I am sure that will be addressed.

Art Asylum I love minimates. I had a few ideas for some new ones. my ideas are: Total Drama Island, Bionicle (and before you start saying anything about this, compare C3 to lego sets), H.P. Lovecraft and possibly like old monsters like Frankenstein or Dracula or the wolf man/werewolf and what about alien v.s. predator? Write back about these ideas

DSTChuck: Alexander — honestly I don’t see Lego letting us make figures of Bionicle BUT I have to say I love playing with my sons. I know AVP and Universal Monster have been suggested before and I think both are great ideas and something we will consider.

is there any more info on the “Doctor Who” minimates line that was shown at the toy fair in ‘08, I think it was ? it will be a shame if they don’t ever come out ! =) THX !

DSTChuck: I am sorry you have to direct all Dr. Who questions to Underground toys. I will say that we have not heard from that about that line in over a year.

I got an email saying that the minimates expected to ship with the Amazon Exclusive Slimer Editions of the Ghostbusters Video Game were now not going to be included. What happened?

DSTChuck: There was a problem in the shipping of the figures from HK to Amazon and Amazon had to go forward without the Minimates set. For more then that you have to ask Amazon, BUT I can tell you they are made and fans WILL be able to get them!

I’ve been a big Minimate fan since the line started as a 3 inch line (much to my wife’s chagrin as she is threatening to glue them ALL to my coffin when I die), and look forward to continue being a fan of this amazing product (my 4 year old has just started getting into them as well). Anyway…was wondering if we’d ever see any more box sets from “Platoon” (since the Platoon should be larger, no?). I’m also looking forward to “The Godfather” set and was wondering if we’d see anything beyond the one set of the Corleone boys? It’d be great to have a second set with maybe McClusky, Sollozzo & Tom Hagen with a broken jaw Michael (since you probably need a “major” character to anchor it). Lastly, I seem to remember hearing about an overall deal with Paramount Pictures for Minimates based on their films. What are the chances of a set of two from “The Untouchables”? (I say 2 sets because we’d need Ness, Malone, Stone, Wallace, Capone & Nitti to really make it “complete” and you could easily throw in alternate versions of Ness & Capone to fill it out for 8 figures across 2 sets). Still also hoping for Dr. Who or James Bond Minimates, but I’ll take whatever you throw our way. Anyway…thanks for your time. Keep up the great work.

DSTChuck: There were some ideas for more Platoon figures at one point, but the line will be just one set. We’d very much like to do a second Godfather set so hopefully the first set does well. Yes we do have a larger deal with Paramount but we’re not ready to say which movies are a part of it. Though by now you have heard about Beverly Hills Cop. We have been told James Bond is a no go, but we always say “Never say Never” at DST. Sorry about your wife, but I can think of worse thing then spending eternity with my hobby — the ancient Egyptians did just that!

I have some more ideas why not make minimates on “who wants to be a super hero” (how much dose your marvel rights cover) also are any more rock minimates coming out I would love to see another Alice cooper why did you cancel the last one?

DSTChuck: Right now we have no plans for any Rock and Roll licenses. Sorry. Our Marvel deal has nothing to do with “Who Wants to be a Super-Hero”, Sorry again.

Wow. This is incredible. BSG has returned, in possibly the best way possible. Thank you SOOOOOO much, DST. And on top of that, they look great. I also want to thank you for changing Kara’s face at the last minute from the blog’s prototype to the new face; big improvement. Just have a few things to ask and say this time. First, i have a wave 3 suggestion i made, so bear with me

We never got Colonial Marines, whom are some of the best-looking characters BSG has to offer. Also, there is another Cylon variant for you to make, and the entire pack becomes an army-building seller; your army-building idea has been doing great, let me tell you!! It also takes care of other big-name sellers, with a few updates along the way for those who need it. The last pack i really hope you consider, Chuck. You all have done really well with the Razor Minimates over the waves, and to be entirely honest i hated your first Helena. You’d finish the main Razor cast, get a new figure, and a great update all-in-one. And it’d be one of my favorite packs ever becasue i love the Pegasus and Razor. Next is a question. The mini-fliers; Gods it is great to see those!! They look great; wonderful job. Two things though: they are all one big piece, pre-assembled (like the Speed Racer cars)?? And have you given thought to the Mk II and Raptors?? I know that there is a big demand for the Mk II Viper over the Mk VII, and Raptors would just be great.

DSTChuck: Thanks so much for the great ideas but lets wait and see how the first couple waves do. The Razor figures and MM did not do great for us so I think we’re not going to focus new lines around it. The Mini Flyers are in fact one piece. We’d love to do more BSG flyers so let’s hope enough folks out there feel the same way you do about them.

Wow, those BSG mates are looking awesome! How many of the vehicles will be at each TRU? Will there be vehicles for other licenses? Now that Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 is remastered for Xbox 360 and PS3, will you be releasing a wave to complement this? I’d love to see a huge gun for Cable. Have you thought about incorporating Minimates into a board game? Each piece would have their own card etc.

DSTChuck: For now the BSG line is two vehicles. They will debut in TRU in the late summer. Shortly after that comic and other specialty stores will have variations of those two same vehicles. For now we’re working on BSG but we have high hopes for more.

We have no plans for anything with Capcom, sorry.

I wasn’t really excited about the Terminator minimates, but after seeing them come in at my work, I was so impressed that I grabbed the whole set! The amount of detail and the great likeness to the characters are awesome. Any chance you might extend the Terminator minimates to the Sarah Connor Chronicles and make a Cameron?

DSTChuck: Not excited about T2?? One of the coolest movies EVER? Well I guess its ok since you have converted. I am sorry but we do not have the rights to anything except T2 and with Sara Connor canceled I think there is little or no chance we’d try to pursue that license.

Have you ever thought of releasing a collector’s guide of Minimates that would have pictures of all Minimates produced, how they’re packaged, how many were produced, which accessories go where, prototypes that were never released (like SF2), character biographies and future releases? You could also include a free Minimate. I think it would be fun to have the staff to pick favorites and quick customs. And also have pictures with sets that you’ve shown on the blog, I think it would be cool to be able to put them on our walls as a poster. I think the posters included in recent waves are excellent but some cover each other and I think it would be awesome to have higher quality pictures of each figure.

DSTChuck: You know its funny DSTMatt and I were pretty much just talking about this. When Digger and I started work on this line, I can tell you there was no chance we though it would ever go over 30 waves. Living it I know there were a few times this line was on life support. So we never put stuff like that in place. We’re thinking we will do something like that on the blog, but it’s a big job, its going to take some time.

I was wondering if there are any plans to make a Minimates version of the delorean form back to the future? its an important piece and the car is just as important as the characters from the film also is there a way to purchase Minimates accessories? i have about 10 different Spiderman but they do not come with weblines. i could also use extra weapons like guns or knives. are there any plans to make a Minimates playset or display stand? DSTChuck: We’ll just have to see about the DeLorean. I don’t think we’re ever going to make an accessory pack but its not a bad idea! I’ll see if I can get DSTRobert to include the webline more often going forward. YES there are plans for a playset, you will see pictures very soon!

I have heard that you are not done with x-men origins minimates so I was wondering if you were make any more if so I’m guessing another gambit which brings me to my questions first are you making wolverine with transparent orange claws from when he was deflecting deadpool ’s blast you should he could come with final battle deadpool and my next question are you going to go back and make minimates of some older marvel movies like the original x-men or x2 :x-men united I want to see how movie nightcrawler would turn out I remember you guys saying “We’ve looked at Nightcrawler as well so you never know what might get added to the MM world. Lockheed, huh?” I was wondering if that has gone further and if a new shadowcat was coming out with Lockheed (if you go into that concept) I really look forward to some new minimates now that they back at toys “r” us

DSTChuck: The way it pretty much works is after a set amount of time after a movie has come out- our rights to that movie expire. We could do a new deal but right now I don’t see us going back into any of the Marvel movies that have already passed by.
