January 25, 2011 : Abomination Figures AFT Best of 2010!
We’re proud to announce that Action Figure Times has awarded our Marvel Select Abomination figure the Best Large Scale Figure of 2010!
We asked Jason Wires, the painter behind this awesome figure, to tell us what it was like to work on the Abomination:
Abomination! Where do I begin! First off Props to Gabriel for capturing a beast at his best! Painting him was a blast! It’s always nice to move away from the men in tights and stripper boots to work on something just simply Bad Ass! Can I say that! You just get a little more freedom in creatures with paint applications and textures! There nothing like giving a sculpture life with paints and this is why we love to our jobs! Keep them coming Diamond. You guys rock & Congratulations!

Unbelievably it has been a little of 25 years since Back to the Future first graced movie screens. Celebrate a quarter century with this Minimates four pack. You get Marty McFly, Doc Brown, Biff Tannen, and the first ever Principal Strickland Minimate. Look for it in a specialty store near you.
: DST joins Facebook
Hey folks just wanted to let you know we’ve at long last set up the Diamond Select Toys Facebook page.
Go on over and check it out and let us know what you think….and don’t forget the DSTChuck feed over at Twitter.
January 20, 2011 : Marvel Select Abomination
Here he is in all his monstrous glory. This is one big action figure. He is in scale with previous Marvel Select Releases and will strike fear into the hearts of every other figure in your collection.
January 18, 2011 : DST Web Focus
We are looking at the content we put on each of our web sites and I thought it might be cool to ask all of you, what you want to see.
These include diamondselecttoys.com , which we view as the company site. This is where you would see announcements about a new license, buy product, or other corporate type news and information.
Art Asylum is about the studio and designers; it’s a way to look inside what’s going on. Things like in progress package design, or take a look at how something was done. It’s our main way to interact with fans through the weekly Q&A.
I have been using Twitter or quick hits or little updates to what I have seen cross my desk.
Minimates.com is still under construction so we’ll save that for later.
Facebook is currently inactive but will be going back online very soon. That will be a business Facebook page about what the employees are doing unless it’s relates to the company . (i.e. we’re at SDCC here are some pictures).
SO here is where you come in; tell me things you like that we do, things you think we should share with you, and which form of technology works best for you for what information. We’re not going to be able to show in progress works (licensing issues) or tell you four series from now what will be in a Minimates series - but that stuff aside I hope there are some things you’d like to know and if we can, we’ll try and oblige you.
Tell us what company Facebook pages you like and why and which ones don’t work for you and why. Which companies are using Twitter best and why etc. Let’s include ideas for the YouTube page we just started as well.
SO email in and put “Web Ideas” at the top of your suggestion.
If we use your idea we’ll send you a cool one of a kind item from the offices - how’s that?
