New York Toy Fair is over, and the DIamond Select Toys booth was a whirlwind of activity the whole time, thanks to a bunch of cool new license announcements, as well as some great reveals from their existing lines. Since the show isn’t open to the public, DST sent over some shots from around the booth, and the first batch is their offerings from The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and Marvel Comics! Diamond Select Toys’ line of Marvel Comics-based neon signs has been getting “glowing” reviews, and now they’ve added another icon to their wall! Their current offerings of the Marvel Comics logo and Captain America’s shield are about to be joined by a brand-new sign featuring the Armored Avenger, Iron Man. The 12-inch-tall face of ol’ Shellhead lights up in bright red, yellow and blue atop a versatile display base, so you can hang it on your wall or stand it on your desk! As a bonus, the sign comes with a sketch-cover variant of Avengers vs. X-Men #1, although we should probably say that this neon sign is not recommended for use as a reading lamp. As Diamond Select Toys reveals more and more of their Avengers movie toy line-up, fans have started to ask, where’s Iron Man? And while DST released a couple different versions of the Iron Man armor as part of their Iron Man 2 line, they were retailer exclusives that have long sold out, leaving new collectors Starkless. But no longer! The Mark VI armor, which Tony developed at the end of Iron Man 2 to utilize a newer, less toxic energy source, plays a role in the Avengers movie, so we’ll be re-issuing that figure in new, Avengers-branded packaging in April. The 7.5-inch figure will include the same display base as the previous version, as well as the same flip-up mask display feature, revealing the face of actor Robert Downey Jr. underneath. Look for Iron Man to make his debut in comic shops and specialty stores in April, around the same time as the new Hulk figure and slightly in advance of Hawkeye and the movie’s mystery foe! The Avengers movie is almost upon us, and Diamond Select Toys is building up the team in their Marvel Select action figure line! First up is the Avengers’ newest recruit and the world’s greatest marksman, Hawkeye! Based on the likeness of actor Jeremy Renner, this 7-inch-scale Marvel Select figure comes with his trademark bow and arrows, and will look perfect alongside your other Select Avengers. Plus, he features 16 points of articulation, for a variety of action poses! Everyone already knows that Minimates make great stocking stuffers, but what if you have a lot of Minimates, and want a fun new way to show them off to your friends and relations? Well, we’ve got an idea — why not trim the tree with them? Due to the interchangeability of Minimates, it’s actually pretty easy. Here’s how you do it:

1. Remove the Minimate’s head.
2. Clip the loop end of an ornament hook onto the exposed neck peg. (In a pinch, you can also unfold a paper clip into an S shape, and wrap the smaller end around the peg.)
3. Place the head back on, as well as the Minimate’s hat or helmet.
4. Bend the hook/clip upwards, so the hook can be seen over the Minimate’s head.
5. Place on tree.
6. Repeat.

At about $7 for a pack of two, that’s cheaper than most ornaments, and you can show your love of Marvel Comics and movies, Capcom games, Halo, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Universal Monsters, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, pirates, fireman, policemen, SCUBA diving and much more! Fans have been waiting to hear which Marvel luminaries would be the next to bow in Diamond Select Toys’ 7-inch scale Marvel Select action figure line. Although they aren’t yet allowed to show them in their entirety, DST is proud to announce that the next two figures will be Hawkeye and Hulk, from Joss Whedon’s upcoming Avengers movie! Sculpted by Gentle Giant Studios, the figures feature the likenesses of Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo in his computer-generated Hulk persona. Each figure will have 16 points of articulation, and while Hawkeye comes with a bow, arrows and a detailed display base, the Hulk stands a full 8 inches tall, taking up every inch of his packaging all by himself! Stay tuned and we’ll reveal the full figures as soon as our SHIELD clearance comes through!
