December 20, 2008 : Hey McFly - nice hat
OK, ask and ye shall receive. Back in 1992 (pretty sure it was ‘92) a run of hats were produced based on the one Marty McFly (Jr & Sr) wore in 2015 in Back to the Future II. Since then, BttF fans have been murmuring about the need for a new run of hats. There is a rumor that an overseas company is making them without a license (but they are not calling them “BttF”, so it’s cool). BUT, why in the world would you want to by an imitation when you can just get your dear Uncle DSTSchaff to make licensed ones for you? Trust me, you are going to love the look, the feel, and the price. All I need to do now is get the licensor to approve it (pesky legal details, always mucking up my fun and carnage). Stay Tuned…
November 22, 2008 : Return of The Flux!
OK, so you all know about the Flux Capacitor and you all know how awesome it is (or should I say “was” seeing as how it sold out so quickly). (more…)
September 15, 2008 : You built a time machine….Out of a DeLorean?
I have to admit that a lot of this comic book stuff just does not do it for me. I mean it is neat and all that but it is just not my thing. I will say that one movie that I have been a fan of for years (that is not Smokey and The Bandit) is Back to the Future. How I yearned as a young boy to one day have my own DeLorean o. I am sure that more that a few of you wanted to be able to travel through time just by turning on the time circuits and getting up to 88 miles per hour. If you ask me the most awesome thing about the car was the remote control line locks. Who wouldn’t want to do awesome burnouts from outside the car? Anyway, i digress. The good news is that DST will enable you to recreate all of your BTTF fantasies in miniature. I can’t wait to get my hands on my own copy!
August 31, 2008 : Send your Festiva Back to the Future
Ever since I was a young boy and I saw the DeLorean back out of Doc Brown’s step Van I have yearned to own a car as super cool and bad-ass as the Back to the Future time machine! I know that many other people feel the same way but have had to settle for driving other, far less cool, cars around every day. Well DST is going to help you out with that. If you can’t have the car at least you can have the license plate… that is pretty cool, right? We are working on a very sweet replica of the OUTATIME license plate from the movie. Unfortunately the tags expire in August 1986 so you will need a real time machine to be able to use them!!
August 24, 2008 : No more time to be OUTATIME
Hurray, I am just about done with this project. I gave DSTJason the pricing and contact info for the PO and I gave DSTSteve the die-line for the packaging. Once the PO is received and the packaging is sent to Universal, I can kick back and relax until this baby is on shelves. (Of course, this means I’ll have to put more attention on the Hoverboard and Hat, but whatever). Why should you care that I’m so happy? Simple. “Done” with me means the countdown has begun until the time you can have this hot little item in your hands. After all, what self-respecting BttF fan could possibly own a Flux Capacitor and not a license plate? That’d just be wrong.
July 8, 2008 : Jumping Jigowatts
I have come to realize that Back to the Future is still one of the most popular licenses out there, you guys love the BTTF. The first thing we decided to make with our newly acquired license was minimates. I was given the task of getting together a style guide (concept art for the ads and boxes) for this little puppy.
June 10, 2008 : Flux test run failure
How come the Flux Capacitor doesn’t work in my car? I hooked it up to the car’s main computer and took the old Mazda up to 88mph, but nothing happened. Oh well. Now, I wonder how I’m going to pay for that speeding ticket…
