It’s the 10th anniversary of Minimates, and one of the brand’s longest-running lines is about to celebrate its 43rd assortment! Trickling out to retailers now, Wave 43 of Marvel Minimates is entirely based on the “Jean DeWolff Saga” from the pages of Spectacular Spider-Man #107-110, written by the now-legendary Peter David. Bringing us the first Minimates of Jean DeWolff, Aunt May, the Sin-Eater and the classic SHIELD Agent, this wave also features new versions of Black Costume Spider-Man, Daredevil and J. Jonah Jameson that will become new favorites in any collection. Check out the packaging shots below, and ask for them at your local comic shop or specialty store on Wednesday!

We know, we know — you really, really wanted to go to the New York Toy Fair this year, but once again, you found yourself to be neither a buyer nor a member of the press. Well, we’ve got an idea — we want to give you a couple of pieces of artwork from our booth that you can use to turn your room into your own private Toy Fair! From outside the booth, we’ve got a big, 8-foot-tall by 3-foot-wide Marvel Minimates poster (a snippet seen above), and from the inside we’ve got an 8-foot-by-3-foot Minimates MAX poster (a snippet seen below). Then we’ve got three pieces of original Minimates control art, used to show buyers what Minimates will look like before they get made. (Don’t worry, we’ll pick good ones.) Plus, we’ll throw in a couple of sets of Minimates for you to hang around the room to simulate a retail environment! It’s like a Toy Fair in miniature, and it’s all yours! New York Toy Fair is over, and the DIamond Select Toys booth was a whirlwind of activity the whole time, thanks to a bunch of cool new license announcements, as well as some great reveals from their existing lines. Since the show isn’t open to the public, DST sent over some shots from around the booth, and the first batch is their offerings from The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man and Marvel Comics! Diamond Select Toys’ line of Marvel Comics-based neon signs has been getting “glowing” reviews, and now they’ve added another icon to their wall! Their current offerings of the Marvel Comics logo and Captain America’s shield are about to be joined by a brand-new sign featuring the Armored Avenger, Iron Man. The 12-inch-tall face of ol’ Shellhead lights up in bright red, yellow and blue atop a versatile display base, so you can hang it on your wall or stand it on your desk! As a bonus, the sign comes with a sketch-cover variant of Avengers vs. X-Men #1, although we should probably say that this neon sign is not recommended for use as a reading lamp. Pre-order it through your favorite comic shop or specialty retailer today, and look for it to arrive this summer!

As Diamond Select Toys reveals more and more of their Avengers movie toy line-up, fans have started to ask, where’s Iron Man? And while DST released a couple different versions of the Iron Man armor as part of their Iron Man 2 line, they were retailer exclusives that have long sold out, leaving new collectors Starkless. But no longer! The Mark VI armor, which Tony developed at the end of Iron Man 2 to utilize a newer, less toxic energy source, plays a role in the Avengers movie, so we’ll be re-issuing that figure in new, Avengers-branded packaging in April. The 7.5-inch figure will include the same display base as the previous version, as well as the same flip-up mask display feature, revealing the face of actor Robert Downey Jr. underneath. Look for Iron Man to make his debut in comic shops and specialty stores in April, around the same time as the new Hulk figure and slightly in advance of Hawkeye and the movie’s mystery foe! Pre-order him later this month from Diamond Comics Distributors’ Previews catalog!

This past weekend, Superbowl watchers were treated to the new Avengers trailer, showing off the heroes in action, including our first full look at the gargantuan Hulk. Well, the Marvel Select toy line has been making waves lately with its larger figures, which tower over other entries in the 7-inch-scale line, and last week they finally unveiled their movie version of the Hulk! Standing 8.25 inches tall, he stands a good inch taller than the rest of the movie-based Avengers DST has made, and features 16 points of articulation for a full range of smashing.
