Diamond Select Toys has made Minimates for each of the key Marvel Studios films so far, and now they’re making Minimates for the most action-packed Marvel movie yet! Hitting stores this spring will be two assortments of figures, one exclusively available at Toys “R” Us stores and on toysrus.com, and another only at comic book shops and specialty stores. With Super Pursuit Mode KITT out in stores now as part of Minimates Vehicles Wave 3, we’ve been thrilled to see such an overwhelmingly positive response from not only casual Knight Rider fans, but also the die-hard Knight Rider fan community at large! Nick Nugent, author of the Knight Rider Companion, took a ride out to the dry El Mirage lake bed in California — where the show’s opening sequence was filmed — and took some great photos of SPM KITT and Michael Knight against a beautiful sunset. Diamond Select Toys’ partnership with Toys “R” Us has given Marvel fans 12 waves of great Marvel Minimates, each containing exclusive characters from across the broad diaspora of the Marvel Universe. Well, this spring will bring us the lucky 13th wave, and with Avengers movie merchandise otherwise dominating the pegs, this wave will showcase the worlds of Spider-Man, Daredevil and the X-Men!

Spider-Sense Spider-Man & The Punisher
DST revisits gun-toting vigilante The Punisher for the first time since Punisher: War Zone, and goes back to his first appearance, when he took on Spider-Man! Spidey gets a removable spider-sense effect, to let him know the Punisher has him in his sights.

Daredevil & Kingpin
Crime lord The Kingpin was one of the earliest Minimates DST made in the Marvel line, so he’s long overdue for an update! This version incorporates the new big-body design used on characters like the Hulk, and comes with his old sparring partner Daredevil.

Mirage & Magma
These two New Mutants used to be trainees at the Xavier School, and they recently got the old team back together, taking an apartment in downtown San Francisco, near the mutant haven on the island nation of Utopia.

Boomer & Rictor
Cable took the training of new mutants in a different direction than Professor X, and the mutant strikeforce X-Force was known for their risky tactics, as well as their risky fashions. Our first figures of Boomer and Rictor show them in their amazing ’90s costumes.

One of the biggest comic events of 2011 — one whose effects are still rippling through the Marvel Universe — was “Fear Itself.” The massive Marvel Comics crossover, which saw eight mystical hammers fall into the hands of the world’s worst villains (and some of its greatest heroes, as well), gave us some amazing battles… as well as some sweet new costumes! To commemorate the Earth-shattering storyline, Diamond Select Toys is releasing two box sets of Marvel Minimates: The Worthy and The Mighty!

The Worthy box set includes Cul, The Serpent (the Asgardian god of fear); his herald Skadi (a.k.a Sin, the Red Skull’s daughter); Mokk, Breaker of Faith (formerly the Grey Gargoyle); and Angrir, Breaker of Souls (formerly the ever-lovin’ blue-eyed Thing). The Mighty box set includes Asgardian All-Father (and Cul’s brother) Odin, as well as Spider-Man, Hawkeye and Iron Man in their final battle costumes, with their dwarf-forged uru-metal weapons. Has the MAX Tech Stealth Jet flown under your radar? Well, maybe this will set off some alarms — a video showing all of the possible combinations if you were to buy two (or three) of them and take advantage of their fully interchangeable parts system! They’re the most fun vehicles we’ve ever made, and they look pretty sweet, as well. Plus, they each come with a pilot figure and plenty of sweet MAX decals for decoration purposes. The blue one shown is a specialty and comic shop exclusive, but a black version is at Toys “R” Us now. Somebody get these on the Pentagon’s line plan for 2013!

The arrival time for Minimates Vehicles Series 3 is almost here, and we can hardly wait to see the first Knight Rider Minimates hanging on the pegs! Because we couldn’t wait, we took the three cars — the Toys “R” Us exclusive KITT with Michael Knight, the comic-and-specialty-shop exclusive KARR with Garthe Knight and the Previews-exclusive Super Pursuit Mode KITT with Michael — out on the streets to see what they could do. And they handled like a dream! (Our two newest Pirate Raiders pirate ships, the Vendetta and the Albion, also did pretty well.) With Minimates Vehicles Series 3 scheduled to sail into comic shops and specialty stores this week, we thought we’d take the two new Pirate Raiders ships out to take some photos of them in action! Robert Deal’s ship The Vendetta comes festooned in red and black, with plenty of skulls, and she comes with an exclusive figure of Undercover Anne Bonny. The British Navy’s HMS Albion is decked out in blue and gold, and comes with an exclusive red-coated Colonial Marine. The Vendetta will be available at comic shops and specialty stores on Wednesday, while the Albion is a Toys “R” Us exclusive, and should be in stores this spring. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Minimates Wave 1 is in stores now, with exclusive figures at both Toys “R” Us and comic shops/specialty stores, and Wave 2 should be arriving next month. But it’s almost time to pre-order Wave 3! As seen on Marvel.com, our next wave of MvC3 figures will hit in the Spring, and the line-up for the wave is packed with all-stars. As usual, some of the two-packs are exclusive to the specialty market, some are at Toys “R” Us, and some are shared between the two.

Comic and specialty stores get in some of the biggest names in Marvel and Capcom, as well as some of the two worlds’ toughest ladies:
