December 8, 2011 : A Price on Their Heads: Boba Fett is the Latest Star Wars Bust Bank from DST

Being a Star Wars collector can get pretty expensive, what with all the high-end collectables out there. And in uncertain economic times, it makes sense to be more practical — so why not pick up a Star Wars collectable that’s not only a great value, but actually saves you money? Diamond Select Toys’ line of 6- to 8-inch Star Wars bust banks not only represents some of the most popular characters in the franchise’s history, it also represents a fun way to save your pennies for a rainy day. The newest bank is Boba Fett in his Return of the Jedi paint scheme, available this week in comic shops and specialty stores, but check out all the different banks below, each priced around $20!

April 8, 2011 : Commander Cody - Execute Order 66
Continuing our line of Star Wars bust banks, allow me to present to you - Commander Cody. Long before he took up the habit of blasting Jedi, Commander Cody was a trusted ally of Obi-Wan Kenobi. So the question now is - do you trust him to hold your money? Of course you do, it’s an inanimate object. Really people, you have got to stop letting me influence you into thinking these things have feelings. Although, is it just me or does Cody’s visor follow you when you move? Hmm…Anyway, this piece was digitally sculpted by Oluf Hartvigson and painted by Star Wars afficiando Ed Wires. While all of my Clone variants have unique sculpts, Cody is by far the most detailed with his brand new head and shoulder pads.
August 12, 2010 : Roast Him!
He’s back! Everyone’s favorite fictional marshamallow mascot is returning for an all-new variant. This time he is modeled off of our Series 2 “Exploding” Minimate. We couldn’t do translucent plastic for this one (well, we could, but I really didn’t like the way it looked) so we went with Glow-in-the-Dark. At first glance, the non glowing bank is a little odd, but turn out the lights and you’ll know you made a good purchase.
July 20, 2010 : My backpack’s got jets…
Who’s the best, baddest, coolest bounty hunter in the galaxy? (Say Cad Bane and I’ll jump out of this computer and we’ll have issues) Correct! Boba Fett. So who better to add to the growing line of Star Wars bust banks? Here is a look at the output of the digital sculpt…

: Happy Anniversary Mr. Fett
Now you see the other reason why the last photo was painted in Jedi colors. We’re doing BOTH paint styles. There are a couple of fine folks showing interest, so no final decisions have been made, but the Empire Strikes Back color scheme is going to be a limited edition exclusive to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the film. Stay tuned for more info…
: Color Me Badd
Yes, as a matter of fact I am completely ashamed that I used that as the title of my post, but it’s been one of those days and it seemed somewhat clever at the time. Anyway, you’ve seen how awesome the Boba Fett sculpt is, now take a gander at the colorized version.
I went with the Return of the Jedi color scheme for 2 reasons. One, it’s bit more eye catching for the casual shopper. Two, well, you’ll see in my next post.
May 13, 2010 : He’s Angry and He’s Guarding Your $$$….
This Sith doesn’t take kindly to people messing with your money!
Protect your $$$ with our Darth Maul Bank!
April 28, 2010 : Flood Insurance?
Afraid of a Covenant invasion? Concerned about the Flood taking over your local financial institution? Well worry no more, the Spartan Mark VI bust bank is here to solve your problems. This iconic character from the Halo video game series was digitally sculpted by Oluf Hartvigson and painted by Ed Wires. The best part is, with the entire multi-player spectrum at our fingertips, there will be no problem creating enough color variations over the next couple of years to help build a UNSC bank army.
December 22, 2009 : He’s Glowing, But He’s Got the Blues
The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man bank has been such a huge success that I decided to look into two variants. One will remain secret (for now), but the other one is here. He’s a glow-in-the-dark blue variant (similar to the Minimate we did for San Diego Comic Con). The head in the picture is the wrong one (the production piece will have the “happy” face), but the material prototype turned out so well that I had to share with you all.
