March 11, 2010 : Iron Man Diorama: The First Step!

I’m gearing up for the next Diorama installment: Iron Man!
So where exactly do things begin?
With Storyboards of course!
Each panel is “PAINSTAKINGLY” scribbled out on paper. (Painstakingly is in caps cause, well, I’ve got self-proclaimed ADD, so an hour is a WHOLE lotta time to me!). Although you MAY be able to see a whip of some sort, I’m not gonna tell what’s going on in each panel.. it’s gonna be a big surprise!
Lookout for the finished product!
May 3, 2009 : Ghostbusters Minimates…in Real Life?
“Gozer Rulz! Terror Dogz Drool!”
When people hear I work at a Toy Company, the first thing people usually say is “Oh really!? So you get to play with toys ALL Day?” And I have to patiently explain to them that sorry no, I don’t normally play with my toys.
But today, OH Today, I answer emphatically YES! I DO play with toys!
You might remember my other…uh… run ins with the Ghostbuster Minimates (see Dana chase Peter!). Now, imagine that, times 50 and you get the awesome dioramas I made for Ghostbusters Minimates!
First: the inspirational Screencaps from Ghostbusters the Movie:

Next I sculpted some columns and pedestals out of clay, added a little “Snow in a Spraycan”, photoshopped some textures and BLAMO! I recreated the most important scene of all! Stay Puft Marshmallow Man getting all angry and EXPLODING marshmallow fluff EVERYWHERE!!! Poor guys… they’ll never look at smores the same way!
The one below I’ve titled: “Damn you and your Campfire Memories Ray!” You can almost see the fear in their eyes…. Hmmm… maybe I’ll add that in post! This one will be found in the Ghostbusters Minimate Packaging Inserts so everyone can get a copy!
Somedays, I love my job.
