April 3, 2012 : New Photos of Marvel Minimates Series 43 Tell the Saga of Jean DeWolff!

jeandewolffheader

The record-setting 43rd Series of Marvel Minimates is in comic shops and specialty stores now, and if you haven’t picked them up, you’re missing out! New figures of black-costume Spider-Man, Daredevil, J. Jonah Jameson and the classic SHIELD agent make this a must-have assortment for any Marvel fan. Plus, this wave of 2-inch mini-figures is the first toy line to tackle the famous “Jean DeWolff” storyline from the pages of Spectacular Spider-Man, which means it includes some characters who have never been made as toys before! Police detective Jean DeWolff is one of them, with her 1940s fashion sense and an alternate badge hand, while the other is the murderous Sin-Eater, shotgun at the ready. The Sin-Eater also comes with a removable mask and two interchangeable heads with hair pieces, so you can reveal your tiny assassin to be the copycat killer or the real McCoy! Check out the photos in our gallery, and pick up a set at your local comic shop or your favorite online retailer.

March 30, 2012 : Amazing Spider-Man Busts and Statues Coming from DST!

asmheader1

Diamond Select Toys has been out of the Marvel statue game for a little while, but at one point they were slowly documenting every corner of the Marvel Universe, and one of the crown jewels in the line was their assortment of Spider-Man 3 busts and statues. Since they had so much fun working on the movie version of Ol’ Web-Head last time, they decided to get back into the game for the new movie, The Amazing Spider-Man! There are four busts and one mini-statue in the works, and they’re all designed by Gentle Giant Studios, based on digital data from the movie. Designed to be displayed individually or as a group, all of the busts stand 9-10 inches tall (The Lizard is enormous) and feature character-specific patterning on their bases; the battle-damaged Spider-Man bust even comes with interchangeable masked and unmasked heads, as well as an interchangeable left hand! The statue is slightly smaller, at 8 inches, and shows Spidey perched on the translucent wall of a New York City skyscraper. Pre-order yours today online or at your local comic shop, and look for them to arrive this June!

Pre-order them at your local comic shop or your favorite online retailer! You can find your nearest comic shop at comicshoplocator.com! And get regular DST updates on Facebook and Twitter!

The new wave of Minimates mini-figures based on the hit video game Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is in stores now, and they look amazing! Penciled MvC3 Minimates poster artwork by Uriel Caton.

This week, Minimates artist and designer Uriel Caton talks about his Marvel vs. Capcom 3 work!

When I first heard that we were going to work on a line of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Minimates, I could hardly contain my inner 12-year-old — this was a fanboy dream come true. Not only have I been reading and enjoying Marvel Comics since I can remember, it certainly looked like my video game addiction was paying off. All my favorite things were coming together in one big project, and I was feeling like the luckiest artist of the month. I was very familiar with almost all the characters involved and was overjoyed at the opportunity to turn them into Minimates.
