January 12, 2012 : Two Retro Star Trek Figures for the Next Generation

Everyone has ALL of the cloth-costume Star Trek Retro figures from DST and EMCE Toys, right? And you’re all Mego collectors from back in the day, right? So you’ve all seen how we’ve managed to preserve the essence of the old 8-inch toys both by remaking characters you have AND introducing new ones, right? Okay, so what’s the next logical step? You got it – Star Trek: The Next Generation. This year is the 25th anniversary of the series that revitalized the Trek franchise, and who better to kick off the line than Captain Jean-Luc Picard and a fearsome Borg drone? No one, that’s who. Now, go out and order them. You know you want to. Resistance is futile. Beam them into your collections this summer!

December 18, 2009 : Deadpool Gets a New Coat - of Paint
Yeah, it’s getting late and the jokes are getting cornier - what can I say? To make up for it, I’ll let you see the approved paint deco for the Marvel Select Deadpool figure. I don’t have any pictures handy for the weapons or the unmasked head, but take my word for it when I say they complete the figure perfectly.
December 8, 2009 : X-Factor Cyclops in Color
Here for your enjoyment is the painted Marvel Select Cyclops figure. This is the short-packed X-Factor version. Lucky fans can pick this up and remember back to an era when Scott and Jean reunited after she came back to life…no, the other time she came back…no, before that…<sigh> the first time she came back…yeah, that era.
November 25, 2009 : Complete the Happy Couple with Silver Age Cyclops
Oh come on, when we created the Jean Grey figure for Marvel Select you HAD to have known that a companion Cyclops wasn’t far behind. Well, here he is. We’ve also worked up a variant based on the first X-Factor outfit, but that’s for another post.
November 24, 2009 : A Decepticon Is the Safest Place to Store Cash
Nope, I don’t believe that for a second. After all, who is more likely to transform and roll out with all your hard-earned loot? But, then again, no matter how spot-on these sculpts are, or how screen-accurate the paint may be, these are just banks. There really isn’t more to Megatron than meets the eye…or is there? Guess you’ll just have to pick one up to find out.
November 22, 2009 : Everyone Took a Beating in the Finale
Here’s the official look at the new Daybreak Cylon 2-pack. Both the ‘modern’ and ‘retro’ Cylons appear battle damaged. Naturally the modern Red Stripe took the worst of it. Old School Rules! (sorry, had to get that out). Anyway, look for it in comic shops and specialty stores early next year.
September 4, 2009 : Red Stripe - Hooray Cylon
Well, you had to have guessed that if we were going to do a normal sized figure of Red Stripe, we were also going to have to do a little fella version as well. So, I present to you Minimate Red Stripe!…
September 3, 2009 : Red Stripe - HOORAY CYLON!
Get it?…<tap tap tap> Is this thing on? Hrmm. Anyway…We have NO idea what we are going to do with this variant, but we all came in after watching the series finale and agreed that a red stripe Cylon HAD to be part of the line. The licensor agreed and the rest is history…
May 2, 2009 : Is It Wrong to Call the Man Without Fear “Yellow”?
Seriously. Did anyone ever think to tell the blind guy that he chose yellow material for his first costume? You would have at least thought that some of his enemies would have mentioned it, if for no other reason than to mock him. Oh well, what’s done is done and now we’ve gone and made it into an action figure in the Marvel Select line. Here is the approved paint. Enjoy…
April 19, 2009 : (Not) Seeing Red
Marvel has just given the green light on our red/standard version of the Marvel Select Daredevil figure. ’nuff said…
